Struggling with Anxiety?

Do you feel like your anxious thoughts have taken over your brain and that you have difficulty getting out of the spiral that the thoughts can take you down? Anxious feelings can present themselves not only in the brain but also in the body; an inability to sit down or relax, feeling like your reaction outweighs the situation at hand and also a lack of confidence in yourself and your ability to make decisions. My Approach

I use a variety of therapeutic techniques when working with clients and tailor my style to fit the individual needs of my clients. I believe that clients are their own experts the relationship between therapist and client as well as the relationship that you have with yourself are the most important agents for change.

I believe that the best support I can give to my clients is being warm and compassionate while also direct. Together, we can get to the root of what you are struggling to create long-lasting and effective change over time. We will work together from the bottom up by getting really clear on your values, setting new boundaries, and increasing the connection/relationship you have with yourself. I believe that the challenges, growth, and insight we gain throughout life tend to occur in relationship to others and also in our relationships with ourselves and bring this way of thinking into my sessions with clients.

Therapeutic Style

Do you ever get a “gut” feeling? Have a tendency to ignore that feeling or explain it away? In session,

we will work to reconnect your brain to your body and increase the trust you have in your gut reactions to the things around you. Our bodies often hold on to memories and traumatic experiences in different ways than our brains do. These unresolved emotions oftentimes present themselves as physical symptoms; anxiety, a feeling of being stuck, panic, irritability and more. Once we are able to express those emotions and heal that connection between body and brain you can find more calm, centeredness, and also confidence in your life and in yourself.

I will also help draw connections between how you view yourself, others, and the world around you and how those ideas about the world have shaped how you are feeling today. Together, we can change your perspective on your anxiety, help you heal, and work to become more authentically yourself. This style of therapy helps increase confidence, create motivation, and create positive and lasting changes.
